The new issue of Delicious. just arrived on my doorstep and I am totally disproportionately excited for this. The December issue is usually too focussed on Christmas, so hopefully January won’t be too much of a “what to do with leftovers” fest.
Last night I made cottage pie from the Delia’s How to Cheat book, except without the cheating (ie: no tinned mince or frozen mashed potatoes because ssly wtf?). I know that might seem a bit odd (why bother to follow the recipe at all?), but really that is an amazing cookbook – who knew that adding cinammon to mince and leeks to mashed potatoes ups a cottage pie from “yum” to “I would like to lick the plate now”? The woman is still a genius.
